Terms & Regulations

International Human Rights Organization Sri Lanka (IHRO) Membership

1. Membership Process
1.1 Applicants must submit a completed application form with all required supporting documents.
1.2 Membership becomes effective only upon IHRO review, approval, and confirmation; IHRO may accept/reject applications without reasons.
1.3 Upon approval, the approved membership fee must be paid to activate membership.

1.4 An official IHRO Membership Identification Card and Certificate will be issued only after successful completion of the above process.
1.5 Membership is non-transferable and remains the property of IHRO.
2. Membership Identification Card
2.1 If lost/damaged/stolen, the member must immediately inform IHRO; a replacement may be issued with a replacement fee.
2.2 Members must inform IHRO at least one (1) month prior to ID expiry for timely renewal; IHRO is not responsible for delays due to late notifications.
3. Participation in IHRO Activities
3.1 Members are encouraged/expected to participate in events, programs, training, awareness campaigns, and community initiatives organized by IHRO.
3.2 Participation supports IHRO’s mission aligned with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
4. Dress Code and Event Conduct
4.1 Members must comply with the official dress code for ceremonies, graduations, and formal events.
4.2 Entry may be refused without proper attire as determined by IHRO management.
5. Graduation Attire
5.1 Graduation cloaks/ceremonial attire must be arranged at least five (5) days before the scheduled event.
5.2 Requests after this deadline may not be accommodated.
5.3 Graduation cloaks are available through IHRO at a prescribed rate of LKR 9,800; purchase must be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
6. Fees and Payments
6.1 No additional payments are required beyond the approved membership fee once the Membership ID card and certificate are issued, unless notified in writing.
6.2 Optional services/replacements/special requests may have additional charges.
7. Use of IHRO Name and Identity
7.1 Members shall not misuse/misrepresent/exploit IHRO’s name, logo, identity, or reputation for personal, political, commercial, or unlawful purposes.
7.2 Actions outside authorized IHRO activities are the member’s sole responsibility.
8. Misconduct and Legal Responsibility
8.1 IHRO is not liable for misconduct/illegal acts/law violations by a member.
8.2 IHRO may revoke membership, cancel certificates, and take legal action for misconduct, fraud, defamation, or misuse of affiliation.
9. Compliance with Laws and Ethical Standards
9.1 Members must comply with applicable national laws and international human rights standards while representing/associating with IHRO.
9.2 Behavior that harms IHRO’s reputation or contradicts integrity/equality/respect may result in disciplinary action.
10. Disciplinary Action
10.1 IHRO may suspend/terminate membership without refund if Terms & Regulations are violated.
10.2 IHRO management decisions on disciplinary matters are final and binding.
11. Amendments
11.1 IHRO may amend/update these Terms & Regulations at any time; members will be informed of significant changes where applicable.
